Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX released last September in the US and was one of the best HD collections to date, with two full games included, as well as cutscenes based off of another. While we are still waiting for Kingdom Hearts III, Square Enix is releasing another collection known as Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX later this year.
This time, the game will include Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix and Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep Final Mix in full, along with cutscenes based off of the Nintendo DS game Kingdom Hearts Re:coded. One of the biggest complaints I personally had about the cutscenes for Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days in the last release was the lack of transitions outside of text screens, with no battles shown off through cutscenes.
The great news is that it has been revealed, through an interview by co-director Tai Yasue with Game Informer, that Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX will actually feature cutscenes based on battles during Re:coded, which should help the transitions feel much better as a result. There will also be a few new cutscenes it sounds like in the game, including what they appear to be teasing as a more fleshed out secret ending compared to the original game.
Look for Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX to release exclusively on the PlayStation 3 in the US on December 2.
