Earlier this year, Kirby Star Allies received its first major update, which involved the inclusion of the new Dream Friends Rick, Kine, Coo, Marx and Gooey. Since then, Nintendo have teased a second update that will include even more new Dream Friends. Now we know exactly when that update is coming.

Nintendo recently announced that Kirby Star Allies‘ second major update will become available on July 27 and will include three new Dream Friends: Daroach, Dark Meta Knight and Adeleine & Ribbon (the pair of which act as a single unit). Daroach, who first appeared in the 2006 DS game Kirby: Squeak Squad, will be able to attack with both his claws and magic attacks. Dark Meta Knight first appeared in the 2004 Game Boy Advance game Kirby & the Amazing Mirror and will be able to attack with his sword, as well as using mirror moves to deflect enemy attacks back at them. Adeleine first appeared as a boss in the 1997 SNES game Kirby’s Dream Land 3 under the name “Ado,” before returning as an ally in 2000’s Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards. In Kirby Star Allies, Adeleine will be able to perform her signature ability of having her paintings come to life. Ribbon, who debuted in Kirby 64, will work in unison with Adeleine by flying her around.

Kirby Star Allies is currently available as a Nintendo Switch exclusive.
