Nintendo has finally shared the release date for the first Kirby game on the Nintendo Switch. Kirby Star Allies launches in North America on March 16th, becoming one of the key releases of the console for the early spring season. This entry puts special focus on the multiplayer gameplay, offering the chance for up to four players to play on the same console, with each character having unique abilities and even the option to combine forces for special moves aptly named Friends Abilities.

The new gameplay showcased at today’s Nintendo Direct showed the use of these special Friend Abilities and the new Friend Hearts which can be used to invite friends to join the game, and even to transform monsters into your allies and assist you against other enemies, which is an interesting take on the very traditional gameplay style of the series.

The game was originally announced at the E3 2017, and it quickly catched the attention of the fans thanks to its mixture of classic level design with modern gameplay features.
