We are getting ever close to the release of the updated The Last of Us Remastered For PlayStation 4 in less than two weeks. Earlier today, we told you about how it appears we will be getting even more content for the game that will feature cross-buy across the two versions after the release of the remastered version. However, that is not the only news as it has been revealed what the total sales numbers for the game to date, prior to the launch of The Last of Us Remastered.
Javi Andres, a journalist in Spain revealed on Twitter that The Last of Us had sold 200,000 copies in Spain and Portugal alone, and then expanded on that by saying that it has sold 7 million copies worldwide. This is a pretty incredible feat for a completely standlone game with no prior entries in the franchise.
This sales figure now puts The Last of Us above any of the games in the Uncharted series, including Uncharted 2 that some see as one of the games of the last generation. This number will be even further increased with the release of The Last of Us Remastered, which is bound to sell a ton of copies on the PlayStation 4 when it releases on July 29.
