Square Enix has uploaded to the official website of Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age a preview of all the tracks composing the new version of the soundtrack. All the classic pieces from the original Final Fantasy XII release have been re-recorded with a full orchestra, giving them a whole new dimension and timeless vibe.
And while we already had a taste of how some of the pieces had been reworked for this release, we now have the chance to listen to a sample of the eight brand new tracks that will make their first appearance in the PS4 version of the game. We still don’t know in which points of the adventure players will get to listen to these new pieces, but by the sound of them it’s clear that the new pieces by composer Hitoshi Sakimoto fit perfectly with his original work from ten years ago. Being a game set in Ivalice, the soundtrack showcases a natural connection with the sound of the Final Fantasy Tactics, and other Sakimoto works like the music for Vagrant Story and Tactics Ogre.
The eight brand new tracks especially composed for Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age are called Lying in Wait, The Guardians, Fury of the Entites, Tchita Uplands, Gloom, Memories Eternal, The Ultimate Trial, and The Zodiac Age.
Listen to a 45 second preview of each track in the videos below. Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age will be released for PS4 on July 11th.
