A new video has been released online where Square Enix talks about the long and arduous journey it took to develop Final Fantasy 15. There aren’t many developers out there they have been making a game for over a decade.

IGN posted the video on YouTube and Hajime Tabata talks extensively about the development for Final Fantasy 15. This is only part 1 of the series so more behind the scenes footage will be shared.

Tabata mentions the development team is quite large as there are many that worked on older games, while there are also others that are trying to modernize the series. He goes on to say that his goal is to make this game the “ultimate Final Fantasy experience”.

System Designer, Takatsugu Nakazawa, feels that the blending of old and new game design techniques make Final Fantasy 15 a unique experience for fans.

One of the charming things about the older Final Fantasy games is that the basic graphics let the players have their own imaginations on the overall design of the characters and environments. For the new game, they needed to flesh out the characters more in order for gamers to care about them.

Another thing that the new game does is have a modern take on the older enemies that were in previous Final Fantasy games. Players got to see some of the familiar bad guys while playing the demo that came out last year.

The video below shows more of their thoughts on the game and how the new elements will impress fans. Final Fantasy 15 comes out worldwide on September 30th, 2016 for PS4 and Xbox One.
