EA Sports has been gradually releasing the division ratings for the upcoming Madden 16 over the last three days and now we have reached the fourth and final division of the AFC with the AFC West.
The Denver Broncos have been one of the best teams in the league for the last few years, though an early exit last year with QB Peyton Manning hurting has many worried, though EA Sports is pretty confident with an 89 OVR. A new coach has arrived, so it is hard to tell if that will be good or bad, but with Manning having targets like WR Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders to throw to, the offense should be fine. The defense should also be very scary, with a linebacker core of Von Miller, Brandon Marshall, and DeMarcus Ware guarding the middle of the field.
Behind the Broncos come the Kansas City Chiefs, who have definitely gotten better in the last couple years, but are a 7 point drop to 82 OVR. The offense is a question mark, though RB Jamaal Charles will gets his yards if he stays healthy and QB Alex Smith is a good game manager. The defensive side is the truly beastly side however, with LOLB Justin Houston and CB Sean Smith leading that side of the ball.
Notching an even tie with the Chiefs are the San Diego Chargers with an 82 OVR as well. Philip Rivers is one of the betters QBs in the game and with rookie RB Melvin Gordon looking to make and impact, this offense could be quite good. The defense up front is a little middling, but the secondary is where they are really good with FS Eric Weddle and CB Brandon Flowers.
Dropping a whole 8 points to last place are the almost always bad Oakland Raiders with a 74 OVR. Derek Carr is hoping to get better in his sophomore season, which should be helped by the addition of WR Michael Crabtree and rookie Amari Cooper. LOLB Khalil Mack is one of the few defensive stars, though they are decent at the other LB spots as well.
