Madden 17 still has a little over a month until its release but that means it’s time for EA Sports to start unveiling player ratings and they are once against starting off by revealing the ratings for the top incoming rookies in this year’s edition.
The top rated newcomer this year is Jacksonville Jaguars CB Jalen Ramsey, with an 82 OVR and an 85 and 84 rating in man and zone coverage respectively, which will make passing tough for most any QB in the game.
Just behind Ramsey is the Dallas Cowboy’s pick of RB Ezekiel Elliott with an 80 OVR. Coming with 92 speed and 86 carry ratings, he is definitely going to strengthen the Cowboy’s run game this season, who is hoping he can breakout like DeMarco Murray did a few years ago.
Coming in at #3 is Baltimore Ravens rookie LT Ronnie Stanley with a 79 OVR. His 86 in pass blocking should be no surprise to anyone, but his 80 agility and 75 acceleration will add some speed to that role that will be keeping defenders from the QB position.
The fourth rated newcomers is actually the most surprising pick of the draft in how high we went with Tampa Bay Buccaneers K Roberto Aguayo going in the second round, with him having a 79 OVR. This is followed by new San Diego Chargers LE Joey Bosa, who was one of the most impressive players entering the NFL draft.
They also released five more player ratings, which are as follows:
6. LG Laremy Tunsil (Miami Dolphins) – 78 OVR
7. RT Jack Conklin (Tennessee Titans) – 79 OVR
8. WR Corey Coleman (Cleveland Browns) – 78 OVR
9. TE Hunter Henry (San Diego Chargers) – 78 OVR
10. RE DeForest Bunker (San Francisco 49ers) – 78 OVR
