Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene is hitting back at Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez after the New York Democrat said she’s been going on a “revenge tour” against other Republicans. Greene talked about these accusations on NewsNation’s The Hill on Wednesday night and didn’t hold back when responding to her Democratic rival.
According to The Hill, the drama started when Ocasio-Cortez went on Instagram Live and said Greene wanted to run for Senate in Georgia. She claimed that President Trump and his team told Greene no, and that’s why she’s been angry at Republican leaders ever since.
But Greene says that’s not true at all. She said she has no plans to run for Senate because that’s “where all good things go to die.” Greene explained she doesn’t want to work in a place where her ideas and bills would just get stuck and never go anywhere. She thinks the Senate doesn’t work well and would rather stay in the House.
The real issue is that AOC is just jealous, honestly
Greene thinks Ocasio-Cortez is just upset because she went on The View this week and had a good time. She said she went right into Ocasio-Cortez’s home state of New York and had a solid conversation with the hosts on the show. Greene said she still backs President Trump even though she’s spoken out against some GOP decisions lately.
She also talked about a news report that said she’s been telling people she might run for president in 2028. Greene called that story a complete lie and said voters are getting sick of these kinds of attacks. The Georgia lawmaker said Americans just want politicians to stop creating so much drama all the time.
When it came to Ocasio-Cortez specifically, Greene didn’t mince words. She said she doesn’t have much respect for the New York congresswoman and thinks she hasn’t done anything meaningful besides getting elected to Congress. Greene brushed off what Ocasio-Cortez said as nothing more than gossip that nobody cares about anymore.
Greene said she thinks it’s actually a good thing to go on shows and talk with people who disagree with you. She believes Americans are exhausted by all the fighting and nastiness in politics right now.
People want real conversations instead of constant personal attacks and rumors about who wants to run for what office. Still, some Republicans in her own party have raised concerns about how she operates within the GOP.
