One of the big third-party Switch exclusives coming this year is superhero action-RPG Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order. Originally slated for a vague summer 2019 release window, the game now has a specific release date.
It was recently announced on the Nintendo of America Twitter page that Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 will be released on July 19. In addition to the release date, we also got a look at the game’s cover art, which you can see to the right of this text.
This will be the first Marvel Ultimate Alliance game in nearly ten years, with the last game coming out in September of 2009. Also, whereas the the previous game was released for a number of consoles including Wii, Xbox 360, PS3, and more, this new game will be exclusive to the Switch.
In Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, players will play as a number of famous Marvel heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Spider-Man, Thor, the Hulk, the Guardians of the Galaxy, Captain Marvel, and various X-Men as they more or less live out the Infinity War story arc (influenced more by the comic version than the film version), searching for Infinity Stones and taking on Thanos and his henchmen, The Black Order.
