Right on the heels of Cyberdimension Neptunia’s release, Idea Factory International has announced that Megadimension Neptunia VIIRÂ will be arriving in North America and Europe in spring 2018.
Megadimension Neptunia VIIR isn’t a new entry series isn’t entirely a new entry in the series. Rather, it’s an enhanced version of the original Megadimension Neptunia VIIÂ which launched in 2016 on the PlayStation 4. What makes this title so special, however, is that not only will it come with VR support to make use of one its new features, one-on-one interactions with the Goddesses, but it will also feature smoother graphics, a new engine, a revamped battle system.
Here is more of what IFI had to say about each new feature:
— Visual Enhancements – Rendered in a new engine, you’ll experience a smoother, richer graphical experience!
— Waifus go 3D – The Gamindustri Goddesses dimension-hop right into your PlayStation VR headset! For the first time ever, you can interact with the Goddesses in VR one-on-one while they explore you, The Player’s, room.
— New World, New Fights – A renovated battle system allows you to set each attack combo mid-battle and introduces new elements of strategy and resource-management.
— Console Wars go Next-Gen – Transform into even more powerful beings with their NEXT forms, and take control of a different set of characters who want to run Gamindustri!
— Virtual Relaxation – Customize your VR room’s furniture with Nep-worthy looks!
It’s important to note that you don’t need a PlayStation VR Headset in order to play this game, but you will likely missing out on some — if not all — of the new interaction mechanic. Also, there is no mention of this title having any new story content or DLC, so if you already played the original Megadimension Neptunia VII then there may be no need for you to pick up Megadimension Neptunia VIIR. That said, the new battle system might make its way in future Neptunia titles, so it might be worth it to check it out and get acquainted beforehand.
