Konami has released update patch 1.09 for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain this week. The patch adds the long awaited Survival Mode to the game.
The update patch on PS4 is not that large as it was only 33MB. As aforementioned, the major thing this Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain update patch adds is the Survival Mode.
The Survival Mode is only available via Metal Gear Online so nothing new has been added to the base game itself. Konami posted some details about it on its website: “*You can play Survival even if you don’t have the Expansion Pack “Cloaked in Silence”, as long as you have a minimum of one (1) Survival Ticket.
*10 (non-stackable) Survival Tickets are distributed during the regularly scheduled maintenance each week. Survival Tickets do not carry over week upon week.”
Lots of other notes have been provided for Metal Gear Online. Most of the changes that have been made address various bugs and balance adjustments. You can check them all out by clicking here.
It’s great to see that Konami is still somewhat supporting Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain even though Hideo Kojima has now left the company. It remains to be seen if Konami plans to release another AAA addition of the series.
