The release of the latest game in the Metro series, Metro Exodus, is just around the corner. In preparation for its launch, developer 4A Games and publisher Deep Silver, as well as the author of the Metro books upon which the games are based, recently announced the new game’s Artyom Edition, which will have a very limited run.

In a recent press release, it was revealed that the Metro Exodus Artyom Edition, named after the game’s protagonist Artyom, will contain many handcrafted items designed not to just replicate, but to more or less actually be Artyom’s gear. The items contained within the Artyom Edition include:

  • A gas mask and filter
  • A working bullet lighter, fashioned from a bullet shell
  • A map of the journey you will embark on in the game, with a leather map case
  • A Spartan dog tag, which will be engraved with the name of the recipient of the Artyom Edition
  • Artyom’s signature Nixie watch

Recipients of an Artyom Edition will also receive a certificate of authenticity, signed by Metro author Dmitry Glukhovsky and Metro Exodus creative director Andrew ‘Prof’ Prokhorov. Only ten Artyom Editions will be made, with one going to 4A Games, so there will be nine left for fans. These sets will not be available to purchase; instead, fans will get the chance to win one through a series of upcoming social media promotions.

Metro Exodus launches on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on February 15.
