Recent rumors have been confirmed that Michael Jordan will be the cover athlete for next year’s NBA 2K11.
“It’s an honor to be featured on the cover of NBA 2K11,” Jordan said, in a statement. “I have no doubt that NBA 2K11 will be a big hit with gamers and basketball fans alike. I’m looking forward to getting back out on the court, virtually.” – Michael Jordan via CNBC
There have been no details announced as to how MJ will be incorporated into the game, but we’re guessing he will be featured on the legends teams which have been a staple of the game for quite some time. These teams have in the past included players from the 50-60’s,70’s, 80’s, 90’s broken down into Eastern and Western Division teams.
So it looks like the 80’s and 90’s east will return to greatness since past games have seen Dominique Wilkins, Isaih Thomas, and Larry Bird all on the Eastern 80’s squad with Jordan the missing puzzle piece to put it all together. With the incredible animations that 2k incorporated into last year’s game, we’re curious to see if Jordan will do MoCap for the title.
