Microsoft recently announced that getting Quantum Break on Xbox One would also get you the game on PC for free, and it looks like this crossbuy feature is something they intend on doing a lot more of in the future.
While there was some speculation regarding whether or not crossbuy would be something that would be exclusive to first-party releases, Phil Spencer cleared the air when replying to a fan on Twitter. A fan asked Spencer, “Do you expect to see third party games on the crossbuy list or just MS related releases?” Spencer replied with, “We’ll make it a platform feature. We think it’s good for gamers.”
While the announcement of Quantum Break losing its exclusivity to Xbox One by coming to PC certainly upset some of the fans, it looks like a lot more of it is coming in the future. However, seeing as how high the system requirements are for Quantum Break, only PC gamers with seriously powerful rigs are going to be able to take full advantage of crossbuy.
Quantum Break is developed by Remedy Entertainment for Xbox One and PC and is set to launch on April 5.
