There’s a strong chance Warner Bros. is set to release a “Game of the Year” edition of Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor.

The Australian Classification board has now rated “Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor Game of the Year Edition” on its official website. The game was rated on March 25th, so this was done very recently. This may be a sign that Warner Bros. is set to make an announcement on the game very soon.

The Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor Game of the Year Edition has been rated as MA15+ in Australia. It’s been noted for having “strong violence”.

Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor released quite a few DLC packs after the game came out. Usually “Game of the Year” editions includes all of the DLC that the game has offered. The Australian Classification Board didn’t reveal the actual content, but one would assume the “Game of the Year” edition has all of the DLC included.

There has been some controversy about game publishers releasing “Game of the Year” editions. WWE 2K15 gamers were upset when 2K Games announced the Season Pass would be offered for free last week. Gamers that pre-ordered WWE 2K15 felt like they got slapped in the face as they forked out $24.99 for the Season Pass.

It’s worth noting Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor also had its own Season Pass too. With the “Game of the Year” edition supposedly out soon, early buyers might feel cheated again…
