After heading to London last year, Minecon 2016 will bring the Minecraft convention back to the US. The Minecon 2016 dates and location were officially announced today by Mojang, revealing that it will take place in Anaheim, CA on September 24th and 25th.
Minecon is one of the larger gaming conventions that is open to the public, but it is especially interesting as it is solely devoted to a single video game. Sure, there are some other games showcased, and other topics are discussed, but overall it is all Minecraft throughout the whole event.
Minecon 2013 took place in Orlando, FL, then the team took 2014 off as they prepared for the Microsoft acquisition. Fan from around the world head to Minecon, though actually getting a ticket is by far the hardest part of the event. The video didn’t announce when tickets would go on sale, so keep an eye out for that info if you are wanting to go to the event.
Just be sure to check out the video below, which features a very different look at Jeb, the lead creative designer behind Minecraft. As far as video game convention announcements go, this one is definitely one of the best.
