MLB: The Show franchise has long been the premier baseball game on the market, even to the point it basically killed the MLB 2K franchise. Jumping to the PlayStation 4 for the first time earlier this year, it truly showed off what the console could do graphically and pushed the popular franchise forward. With only a few months to go until the release of the next game in MLB 15: The Show, Sony has unveiled who this year’s cover athlete will be.
Announcing on Twitter early, the grand reveal was shown during The Game Awards tonight, where Los Angeles Dodgers superstar outfielder Yasiel Puig was revealed as the cover star for next year’s MLB 15: The Show. The very polarizing and controversial star is one of the more interesting choices of the bunch, with his name in the headlines often for the wrong reasons. However, there is no doubt that he is an excellent player.
Sony Santa Monica is certain to be showing off the game during tomorrow’s PlayStation Experience, so we will get an opportunity to see what leaps the franchise has taken in its second year on the PlayStation 4. The second year for most sports games is always a huge deal, so hopefully it will not disappoint at all.
