Rumor: More Gamers Play Star Wars Battlefront On PS4 Over PC And Xbox One

It’s been a few days since Star Wars Battlefront came out and it looks like the PS4 platform is the most popular way to play the game.

This is according to a website that looks upon the amount of active players that are playing a specific game on a particular platform. The website in question is called SWBStats which is a part of Player Stats Network.

A user on NeoGAF wanted to know the validity of the statistics shown and it sounds pretty legitimate. The site said statistics are “fetched every 5 minutes from EA’s servers where all players are connected to. We don’t calculate anything ourselves. These are direct numbers for every platform.”

As of time of writing, the PS4 version of Star Wars Battlefront is the platform of choice. Over the last 24 hours, the highest peak of online players was 187,286 players. This is above the 110,817 player peak on Xbox One and 49,871 player peak on PC.

I’ve refreshed the website many times and PS4 gamers seem to outnumber Xbox One gamers by roughly 50,000 players. The PC player count always seemed to be a distant third.

This might be an indication that Sony’s deal with EA helped make Star Wars Battlefront more popular on PS4. The PS4 is also a console that is inside more homes worldwide than the Xbox One too so that helps too.

However, we are still categorizing this news as a rumor for now until EA and DICE announce official statistics for the game.
