The Pokemon TV series is one of the longest running anime ever, especially of the ones that are still broadcast in the US as well. Netflix finally added the series to their lineup of shows to stream instantly back in March to the glee of many Pokemon fans. Oddly, they chose to add only the Indigo League episodes and the first season of Black & White at that time. However, when the episodes were uploaded, many realized we only had what was considered the first season of airing, rather than the entire slate of Indigo League episodes.
This meant we were cut off only part the way through Ash’s Kanto journey, with the last few episodes of the season actually missing and replaced with the first few of the “second.” Luckily, Netflix has recently added the remaining 26 episodes of the Indigo League, followed by the first 23 episodes of the Orange Islands. Even though a little under half of these episodes are Orange Islands episodes, they are still classified under the Pokemon: Indigo League heading on Netflix.
These new episodes include some major parts of the Kanto journey, including the battle for the final two badges in Cinnabar Island and Viridian City, as well as the entirety of the Pokemon League. We also get the follow-up episodes in Pallet Town before venturing to the Orange Islands. The standout episode Charizard Chills rounds out this latest batch of episodes.
With only a few months between episodes being added, hopefully we will see the rest of the Orange Islands and onward added before long.
