New Fist of the North Star Game Tops Japanese Sales

Recommended Videos

This week’s Japanese sales charts show the new Fist of the North Star game made based on the gameplay of the Yakuza series as the most popular game in Japan, as Media Create informs. Developed by the Yakuza team for Sega, the game presents an open-world scenario in which we control the protagonist Kenishiro while he survives in an irreverent post-apocalyptic world. Sale for the game have been solid, so Sega will probably be pretty happy about this release.

The next new entry in the charts is the remaster of the first Trails of Cold Steel for PS4. This new version features a considerable graphic update implementing 60FPS framerate and 4K resolution on PS4 Pro, as well as higher quality of sound and a new speed mode that allows to skip scenes and get through battles more quickly.

Finally, closing the 10 is the Royal Edition of Final Fantasy XV. If Japan was one of the few territories where the RPG didn’t succeed as previous entries in the series, this re-release has done little to fix this. The Royal Edition includes an extended version of the final chapter, the possibility of exploring the seas of Eos to find new fishing spots, as well as all the contents from the season pass.

On the hardware chart, Nintendo Switch continues to lead the list, while the release of the Glacier White version of PS4 Pro increases the sales of this model, although the limited stock of the Slim model means that the overall numbers of PS4 remain on the same level as last week.
