The new Hitman game that was just announced at E3 2015 could be released digitally first before it hits retail stores.

IO Interactive is releasing Hitman like “digital episodes”. The game’s creative director, Christian Elverdam, revealed this news in a new interview with Gamespot.

Releasing the new Hitman game episodically through digital means will allow IO Interactive pack a lot of content claims Elverdam. He said at the end of the game’s development, the game should have more content than Hitman: Absolution.

Elverdam said the new Hitman game will have a disc version “at the very end“. If you don’t feel like paying for the game episodically, you can choose to wait to get all the content on one disc.

Elverdam said at the end of the day, the new Hitman game will still cost $60. He said there “will be no other prices“. It sounds like if you pay the digital route, you’ll be paying for some missions at a time.

The new Hitman game will start rolling out later this year for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. They didn’t specify when all of the episodes will be out yet. If you want to play the full game on a disc, it might be coming out in early 2016.
