Kirby is coming to Nintendo Switch and he’ll be with some friends. A brand new Kirby game was just revealed during the Nintendo E3 Showcase, and it looks to have a focus on multiplayer. This isn’t the first time the series has dabbled with multiple players, but the mixture with classic looking levels is a nice touch for the franchise.
Kirby marked just one of the returning Nintendo franchises for the Switch. The showcase was chock full of big announcements, including a main series Pokemon game and Metroid Prime 4 being in development. But Kirby fans were still given something big to look forward to. The game doesn’t have any name outside of just “Kirby for Nintendo Switch” so much more details are left to be shared.
Even a release date wasn’t set outside of next year, 2018. Nintendo seemed to want to use this E3 to set the stage for Switch over the next year or two. Some games didn’t even get the 2018 date, so Kirby fans should be somewhat happy that they won’t have too long to wait. Kirby has always been a solid platformer, and this game looks like a combination of a lot of the best of the series.
