The official EA Star Wars Facebook page has teased s new game mode will be focused on X-Wing/TIE Fighter aerial battles in Star Wars Battlefront.
The EA Star Wars Facebook page said a “new mode incoming” with a picture of an X-Wing saying “prepare for take off“.
Someone commented and got excited thinking that space battles are returning. DICE clarified the mode is not taking place in space, but they will be “air battles and dogfights that take place on the vistas of our planets“.
They also clarified that they are not working on space battles “for this release” of Star Wars Battlefront. This kind of rules out that space battles will be added later as DLC too. You just have to make do with this new mode.
We may have seen brief glimpses of this mode already during some of the gameplay trailers DICE and EA have released before. X-Wing vs TIE Fighters have been shown before taking part in aerial battles. It should be a fun mode for fans of the iconic vehicles.
It’s likely EA and DICE are teasing that this mode will be revealed in full during Gamescom  2015 later this week. Hopefully they confirm more characters and vehicles that will be in the game too.
Star Wars Battlefront releases from November 17th for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
