New This Week in Video Games (8/17 – 8/23)

We’ve now reached the point of the summer where students are starting to return to school and college, or at least are about to in the next few weeks. As a result, many getting acclimated to the new year, perhaps ready to play some new games with their newly made friends or dorm mates. Luckily, we have a few new games this week that may fit that bill, especially if you own a PlayStation platform.

Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition is unleashed on Tuesday for both Xbox and PlayStation consoles, following up on last year’s PC release. Tales of Xillia 2 is the major RPG release of the week for PlayStation 3, while Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment also releases on the PS Vita. After a release earlier this year on Xbox platforms only, the very unique Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare hits PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 on Tuesday as well.

PSN gets a number of new releases this week including Counterspy, Hotline Miami, and The Last Tinker: City of Colors, while the rest of the week is made up of one 3DS release on the eShop and some PC releases like Detective Grimoire and Shadowgate.
