Newest Injustice 2 Trailer Highlights Catwoman

While we’ve known for a while now that Catwoman, AKA Selina Kyle, will be a part of Injustice 2, developer Netherrealm Studios has made it even more official with a new trailer showing off the famous cat burglar’s moveset for the upcoming fighting game.

Starting off with a tease, or at least a nod, toward the Gotham City Sirens through a dialogue with Harley Quinn, we’re treated to a few new moves in Catwoman’s arsenal. For starters, she’s seen using her cat Isis in an offensive maneuver – essentially turning Poison Ivy into a scratching post – that I don’t believe was in the original Injustice: Gods Among Us, plus a nifty claw dash move. Her signature whip comes into play for some combos, both on the ground and in the air as well.

Her “super move” looks particularly brutal, as Catwoman grabs a motorcycle, wraps her whip around her opponent’s legs, and drags them along behind the bike, before launching it into the air and on top of them, complete with an over-the-top explosion.

Of note is the fact that Catwoman, Harley and Batman all have the same voice actors they’ve had during the Batman: Arkham series, giving fans a fun bit of non-canonical continuity between the two vastly different series.

So far, 31 characters have been confirmed for Injustice 2, including DLC characters Darkseid, Green Lantern John Stewart, Power Girl and Reverse Flash. You can expect at least one character from the Mortal Kombat franchise to be announced as well, though whether it will be a returning Scorpion or someone else has yet to be revealed.

Injustice 2, the sequel to the popular DC Comics fighting game Injustice: Gods Among Us, is expected to hit PS4, Xbox One and PC on May 16th. It picks up shortly after the first game leaves off, with the world’s heroes trying to maintain order after the fall of Superman’s regime.
