The Wii U is getting ready to launch this Sunday, and will give gamers a taste of the next generation of gaming hardware.  The tablet based controller scheme will once again differentiate Nintendo’s console from the competition, but it’s also going to feature a new level of connectivity for Nintendo gamers.

The revamped Nintendo Network, Miiverse functionality, and internet browsers will likely be big selling points in an era where online connectivity has become important for game consoles.  In this video, Bill Trinen reiterates Staoru Iwata’s recently Nintendo Direct announcements concerning the new console’s online functionality.

The Wii U is set to arrive on November 18th, but may be hard to come by for those that missed a small pre-order window from earlier this year.
