Developer NIS America held their annual press conference last night in San Francisco, where they revealed the release dates of most of their games that will come to North America and Europe this 2017. Among them we find the eagerly anticipated third entry in the Danganronpa series, the first brand new Ys game in eight years and Disgaea 5 Complete, which will be the company’s first release for Nintendo Switch.
After a successful Japanese launch, Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony will be released on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita on September 26th in North America and the 29th in Europe. This new entry promises a fresh start for the franchise after the anime that tied up the story from the first two games with polarizing results. Prior to this, Danganronpa 1-2 Reload and Ultra Despair Girls will make their way to PS4 in March and during the summer respectively, an excellent opportunity to get introduced in this thrilling series of visual novels.
Action RPG series Ys will also have a brand new title out this 2017, in this case Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana will be out in the fall for PS4, PSVita and PC, eight years after Ys Seven was released for PSP. The game will be released with dual audio in English and Japanese, as well as texts in English and French. Those who want a taste of the series can start with Ys Origins, which is released in PS4 this coming week.
Other PlayStation titles include fighting game Tohou Kobuto V: Burst Battle for PS4, PSV and PSVR coming this summer 2017, Cladun Returns: This Is Sengoku! for PS4, PSV and PC coming in June, Tokyo Tatoo Girls for PSV and PC in fall. It was also announced that The Silver Case for PS4 will arrive in April with two brand new story chapters and extra tracks by Akira Yamaoka, Erika Ito and the Grasshopper Sound Team.
Nintendo platforms also had their fair share of announcements, with Nintendo Switch getting Disgaea 5 Complete on May 23rd (NA) and May 26 (EU). On the other hand Nintendo 3DS will receive two releases this summer: The first is Culdcept Revolt, a mix of collectible-card game, board-game, and strategy. The other is RPG Maker Fes, which allows players to customize their own RPG adventure and play other users’ stories through the RPG Maker Player app for the Nintendo eShop.
Finally, NISA announced the launch dates for three games for Steam: Operation Abyss: New Tokyo Legacy on March 27th, Psycho-Pass: Mandatory Happiness on April 24th and Operation Babel: New Tokyo Legacy on May 16th.
