inXile entertainment today re-released Wasteland to backers of the Kickstarted Wasteland 2 project, which raised over $2.9 million last year.  As part of the lead up to Beta testing of Wasteland 2, backers were sent Steam and GOG activation keys for the original RPG legend.

The original title will go on sale on November 12th, if you are a backer of the Wasteland 2 project, you can access you key by logging into your account at the Ranger Center.

Made by Interplay in 1988, the game is widely considered the grandfather of the Post-Apocalyptic RPG, acting as the precursor for Fallout and the subsequent offerings in that franchise.

Wasteland 2 is currently in development by Brian Fargo’s inXile, and Chris Avellone’s Obsidian Entertainment.
