Overwatch 2 and Diablo IV Announced at BlizzCon

Well, that’s one way to get your fans back. Following months of backlash (or years, depending on when you start the count), Blizzard kicked off BlizzCon 2019 with some massive fan favorite announcements. Diablo IV and Overwatch 2 were the headliners, though more could be coming as the show continues. Each got an official announcement trailer, with both Diablo IV and Overwatch 2 coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC on an unspecified date.

You can check out each of the announcement trailers below. Once again Blizzard has shown their prowess when it comes to generating hype. The videos are fantastic and serve as a great introduction to the new games while not revealing too much about the gameplay. Thankfully there’s more to see beyond the announcement, so be sure to check out the gameplay video for Diablo IV  and Overwatch 2 as well.

Beyond that there isn’t a ton of info out there just yet. These were rumored, but still surprise announcements out of Blizzard, so they’re been good at keeping leaks to a minimum. Of course, with recent months presenting the company with a number of scandals and fan anger, this was exactly what may have been needed. With this dual announcement Blizzard fans have plenty to be excited about in the coming months/years.

UPDATE: More info is coming out of BlizzCon. For Overwatch 2 it seems to mostly be a single player offering. Players on the original Overwatch will still be able to play PvP with anyone on the new release, and will even have access to the added heroes and content within the online PvP scene.
