UPDATE: Apparently the original tweet was a mistake, and Overwatch competitive mode will arrive as scheduled in June.

Original Story: Overwatch will be getting more free content in the months following its recent launch, though the Competitive Play mode will not be arriving next month as was originally announced by Blizzard. Blizzard had tested this mode during the beta and claimed that it needed a little more time to tweak it, and now they’ll need even more time.

The official Overwatch Twitter account recently replied to some fans inquiring about the much-requested Competitive Play mode, to which they replied that they will “be introducing our Competitive Play (hopefully) later in July.”

The Competitive Play mode separates players into tiers, which is determined by how well they perform in matches. This would allow people of similar skill levels to play against each other, though the mode didn’t work as well as Blizzard had hoped and resulted in the delay.

Overwatch is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
