Phil Spencer Wants Halo Reach To Be Xbox One Backwards Compatible

Halo Reach is on the radar of the Xbox Head to be one of the Xbox 360 games to be backwards compatible on the Xbox One console.

A fan asked Phil Spencer on Twitter if we would see Halo Reach Anniversary or as a DLC remaster for the Master Chief Collection. The fan really wants to see the game playable on Xbox One.

Spencer replied by saying “I’d like to see it come via back compat“. This shows us that the game might be playable on the Xbox One very soon when the backwards compatibility update comes this November.

From that answer, it sounds like we can only play Halo Reach as it was originally on Xbox 360. We won’t be seeing a remaster like the other four games that were released as part of the Master Chief Collection last year.

Some fans are kind of disappointed by this as they would like to see the game played at 1080p with 60fps. Just making it Xbox One backwards compatible doesn’t mean it will have the bump in resolution and frame rate sadly.

Halo Reach could be easy to be Xbox One backwards compatible since the game is published by Microsoft itself. It is also one of the most requested games so it may be a matter of time until an official announcement is made on it.
