November is just about over, and with Microsoft already announcing a pretty decent slate of free games for Xbox Live Games with Gold, the pressure was on for Sony to announce their final set of free PS Plus games for the year. Today the announcement arrived, and while it isn’t a slam dunk, they do have some cool new games for subscribers to grab. Here’s the PlayStation Plus free games for December 2016.
Invisible, Inc., PS4
Stories: Path of Destinies, PS4
Hyper Void, PS3
Tiny Troopers Joint Ops, PS3 (Cross buy on PS4 and Vita)
Color Guardians, PS Vita (Cross buy on PS4)
VVVVVV, PS Vita
Something that’s important to note is how many PS4 games PlayStation Plu subscribers will be getting. With the PS3 now quite old and abandoned by many players, getting two games on it isn’t as exciting as it used to be. Xbox gets around this thanks to backwards compatibility, but PS4 doesn’t have that to lean on. The answer, it seems, is to give players games that have cross-buy with already established PS4 versions. This gives gamers on PS3 their free game, while taking extra care of the millions who only game on PS4.
As always, we’ll do a full matchup between these two services, but let us know in the comments which you think took the prize for December 2016.
