Sony has revealed the free games that PlayStation Plus members will get in June 2016. The selection looks like a nice mixture of AAA and indie titles, with some very well received games making the list for this month. With Microsoft already revealing their games for next month earlier, we now know the two sets of titles that subscribers to the competing services will receive for June.
The full lineup of PlayStation Plus free games for June 2016 are: NBA 2K16 for PS4, Gone Home: Console Edition for PS4, Echochrome for PS3, Siren: Blood Curse (Episodes 1-12) for PS3, God of War: Chains of Olympus for PS Vita, and Little Deviantsfor PS Vita.
The two PS4 titles could not be more different, offering up a AAA sports game alongside a small, indie experience. While this might make it so that an individual customer only has one free PS4 game they enjoy, it’s always good to get variety, allowing the selection to please more people at the same time.
Speaking of Gone Home, PlayStation Plus Content Partnership Manager Greg Lewickyj said, “Gone Home is one of the most talked about titles from the last few years for good reason. While it’s an interesting exploration/adventure game, it’s the narrative of Gone Home that’s so remarkable. The game has a strong development team, including Steve Gaynor, who worked on a few titles in the BioShock series. The Fulbright Company (now just Fullbright) created an intimate and unique story that is well worth your time.”
These games should be free starting next month on the PlayStation Store. Be sure to watch for our monthly matchup of the two services soon.
