Earlier this year, the GO Snapshot feature was added to Pokémon GO, allowing players to take pictures of any of their caught Pokémon any time they want. Now, the game is gearing up for a photo competition for players using this new feature.
Niantic recently announced that they will soon be holding the GO Snapshot Challenge in three parts over the next couple of months. First, from April 15 through April 24, will be the Buddy Challenge, in which players are challenged to take pictures of themselves and their Buddy Pokémon being buddies. From April 29 through May 8, the Habitat Challenge will challenge players to take pictures of Pokémon in their natural habitats. Lastly, the Go Create Challenge will have players taking the most creative pictures that they can.
Players can submit up to three entries per challenge by posting their pictures on Instagram or Twitter with the hashtags #GOsnapshot and #BuddyChallenge for the first challenge, #HabitatChallenge for the second, or #GoCreateChallenge for the third. Runners-up will win the opportunity for a new PokéStop to be created featuring their winning picture on its photo disc. The grand prize winners for each challenge will also get PokéStops, as well as tickets to one of this year’s Pokémon GO Fest events.
