The new games Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee! were released today (November 16) and are the first mainline games to feature connectivity with the mobile game Pokémon GO. To celebrate the new games, GO is holding an in-game event targeted at those who have started playing the new console games.

As of today, new Special Research in Pokémon GO is available, which, upon completion, will give the player the opportunity to catch the new Mythical Pokémon Meltan. Also beginning today, new Field Research becomes available that will focus on Kanto Pokémon that may be harder to come by in Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Eevee!, such as Kabuto and Omanyte. This way, you can simply catch these ones in GO and then send them over to Let’s Go to complete your Pokédex, rather than struggling to find them in Let’s Go. These Field Research missions will run from now until November 27 at 1:00pm PST/4:00pm EST.

The event continues next week, as new Raid Battles will become available in GO. Starting on November 23 at 1:00pm PST/4:00pm EST and ending on November 26 at the same time, Pikachu’s and Eevee’s evolutions will be Raid Bosses. This includes Raichu, Alolan Raichu, Jolteon, Flareon, Vaporeon, Espeon, and Umbreon. Lastly, a new Pikachu Cap and Eevee Cap have become available for your in-game avatar.
