The names of the two mascots that will feature in Pokemon Sun and Moon may have been revealed via trademarks that have been listed earlier this month.
As spotted by a user on NeoGAF, trademarks registered by Game Freak show the possible names of the new Pokemon that will feature in Pokemon Sun and Moon. The two names are “Solgaleo” and Lunaala”. Sadly no pictures were accompanied with the names so we don’t know what they look like just yet.
In related news, the name of “Gigareki” was also trademarked as well, but it’s possible this one isn’t tied to the mascots. It could just be the name of another Pokemon or a place in the game.
These names could be tied to something else, but strong evidence suggests the former two should be for the main mascots in Pokemon Sun and Moon. The names do sound like something Nintendo would use for a Pokemon game.
Pokemon Sun and Moon will be released in the latter half of 2016 exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS. It will mark the 20th Anniversary of the popular video game series.
