Sony will wait until after the holidays to drop the price on the PS Vita, according to recent report from Eurogamer. Sony is known for dropping the prices of the hardware incrementally, and it looks like the company is already in discussions to arrive at the new price point for the Vita.

Fergal Gara, Sony’s UK Boss explained the incoming price drop, and what it means for those interested in getting a Vita this holiday season. “So the question is not so much if, but when,” Gara told the outlet. “We won’t have an across the board price down this Christmas. But what you will see us doing is work very hard with our retail partners to add value to the product to make it more compelling.”

Gara explained that shoppers will see some Vita bundles with good value compared to the standalone product this holiday season. But for those that can wait it out, 2013 will definitely see a price drop for the handheld. This holiday season was one that Sony hoped would bring more gamers to the handheld. Two of this year’s biggest third party console releases will arrive on the device with Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified and Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation.
