The PS4 will be celebrating its third anniversary later this year, and in the time since launch we’ve gotten a number of different system updates that have added a number of different features. The last update we got was the much anticipated 3.50 update and now we’ve got the latest.
Following up on the 3.50 update a few months ago, PS4 system update 3.55 is now live on the servers, which you can download at anytime.
This 3.55 patch update comes in at around 300 MB, so it shouldn’t take long to download. However, as of this time, we do not know what exactly this new system update has added or changed.
More than likely, the 3.55 update is just for stability, as we’ve seen many times in the past. This can be disappointing, but it’s usually setting up something bigger for the future.
If you have your system settings to where it downloads updates automatically, it should do that overnight, but otherwise you’ll have to manually do it when you next boot up your system.
The next big update to come out for PS4 is probably going to be 4.00, but we can probably expect a few other small ones like this as well in the meantime. If there is anything major in this update beyond stability once the patch notes are out, we will make sure to let you know.
