PS4 Update 4.70Â rolls out today, and Sony has issued the official patch notes detailing what this new system software does. For such a significant number change, it actually touches very little, only making some minor changes, and not adding any significant new features. Perhaps Sony is holding everything big for PS4 Update 5.0.
The patch notes for PS4 Update 4.70 aren’t officially out yet, but they will appear here when Sony issues them. According to those who’ve seen them already via other means, this update really just improves stability and performance. With a relatively paltry file size of 340mb, this isn’t too shocking to hear.
While PS4 Update 4.70 is rather disappointing for those who have been hoping for big things from their console, it’s not like Sony has been lazy. Recent updates have added and improved Boost Mode for those with a PS4 Pro, and we’ve seen many quality of life changes to the core systems of the PlayStation platform.
What could PS4 Update 5.0 end up adding to the mix? Likely all the things that Sony will announce and talk about at E3 2017, which is just around the corner. Stay tuned here for news from the show, including all the big press conferences.
