PSN Status No Longer Listed As Intermittent Following Downtime

Last week was a rough one for gamers as both PSN and Xbox Live were down most of the time surrounding Christmas. Just the other day, we told you that PSN was said to be working without the need for any workarounds, but Sony has still listed the network’s overall status as “Intermittant.” However, it appears the problems for PlayStation Network are fully behind them now, as the status has been changed on the official page.

Fittingly coming right after the news surfaced that two members of the infamous Lizard Squad had been arrested in connection with the DDoS attacks of various online networks, Sony has adjusted the status on the official page for PSN from “Intermittant” to “Heavy Network Traffic,” which is described as follows:

  • “Some latency may be experienced due to high volume. Should you continue to experience problems after PSN services are fully restored please refer to Contact Support

This new status is to be expected, especially after a holiday like Christmas where tons of people have gotten new PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PS Vita systems as gifts and are taking advantage of having them. With Lizard Squad seemingly done, hopefully this means we will see a sturdy PSN moving forward now that we have got the worst behind us.
