Psycho Mantis Teased For Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain?

It sounds like Psycho Mantis (or a villain similar to him) will be added in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

Many journalists were able to play Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain earlier this week during a preview event. Although they’re not able to share big details until June 9th, some journalists have dropped hints here and there on Twitter.

Journalist, Samuel Hubner Casasdo, played Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and tweeted:

“OK, one last thing: if a certain MGS1’s villain’s mindf**kery was your thing, then The Phantom Pain will be right up your alley. X, Sam”

Casado is clearly alluding to Psycho Mantis. It’s possible Psycho Mantis (or a character similar to him) will warp the minds of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain players. Trolling players has been Hideo Kojima’s trademark over the years.

In Metal Gear Solid, people had to plug their controller to player two to combat Psycho Mantis’ powers. It will be interesting if a similar gameplay feature is done in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. The Big Boss character himself is going through a tough time since he has been in a coma for nine years.
