Radiant Historia released back in 2010 for the Nintendo DS from Atlus and received very favorable reviews for its gameplay and story setup. While it was stated in the past by the game’s director that they hoped to do a sequel one day, instead a remake has been announced for the Nintendo 3DS.
Famitsu started teasing some news was coming about a new Radiant Historia yesterday, which was followed by Atlus doing the same with the reveal of a teaser site. Many were hoping this meant a full fledged sequel for the game would finally be coming, but instead came some good news for sure, but something that perhaps will be underwhelming news for some.
As provided by Siliconera, the latest issue of Famitsu magazine did in fact reveal a new Radiant Historia game known as Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology. However, rather than being a sequel to the first game, it is a full remake of the original, this time for the Nintendo 3DS.
While this game will be a remake of the original, the good news is that it will have a new scenario beyond the content from the first game. No further information was revealed from this initial release from Famitsu though, so we’ll have to wait on that. The full release of this issue of Famitsu should have more details inside, so that will be interesting to wait and see.
Hopefully Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology will see a release in the West as well like the first did, with it also hopefully selling well enough to lead to a sequel. You would think that is what Atlus is banking on with this remake, as it can help them judge how much interest people have in a sequel while also providing a new way for people to play the original.
