Ratchet and Clank Movie Sets A Release Date Close To Captain America: Civil War

by Damian Seeto

The official release date for the Ratchet and Clank movie has now been set.

As revealed on the PlayStation Blog, the Ratchet and Clank movie will be released in North America on April 29, 2016. The movie will be distributed by Focus Features.

The April 29th, 2016 release date for the Ratchet and Clank movie is interesting to say the least. The movie is out one week before Captain America: Civil War comes out. Sure the movie will be targeted to kids. but Captain America: Civil War is set to be one of the biggest movies out for 2016. Hopefully the Box Office total for the Ratchet and Clank movie won’t be affected that much.

The Ratchet and Clank movie stars the following people:

  • Academy Award nominee and Golden Globe winner Paul Giamatti as Chairman Drek
  • Golden Globe winner John Goodman as Ratchet’s mechanic mentor Grimroth
  • Young Artist Award winner Bella Thorne as Galactic Ranger Cora
  • Rosario Dawson as Galactic Ranger support team member Elaris
  • Academy Award nominee Sylvester Stallone as Victor Von Ion, Chairman Drek’s villainous lieutenant

Ratchet, Clank, Nefarious and Captain Qwark are obviously also in the movie and will be voiced by the same actors. You don’t have to worry about different voice actors butchering the characters.

Hopefully the Ratchet and Clank movie proves to be a success. The video game industry needs more decent movies. We all know video game movies are all usually bad…
