A new leak from an achievement list on Xbox appears to indicate that ReCore is indeed getting a Definitive Edition like rumors have suggested.
Spotted by Reddit user smlfan123, the image shows artwork for ReCore: Definitive Edition next to its achievement list, seemingly confirming its existence. The cover no longer appears on Xbox as it was pulled. Still, Windows Central managed to grab an even better screenshot which can be seen below.
Because it appeared where the standard ReCore image used to be instead of getting its own listing, it could mean that previous owners will receive the upgrade for free once it releases, but this may not be the case. Neither Xbox nor developers Armature or Comcept have officially announced a Definitive Edition, so we likely won’t get any more details until then.
ReCore was criticized upon launch last September for feeling unpolished and incomplete, as evidenced by the absence of a notable corebot, T8NK, used during the game’s promotional campaign. It eventually released as DLC. The Definitive Edition will likely include all content.
With the Xbox One X releasing in November and Gamescom taking place next month, we could see an announcement then with the Definitive Edition version receiving enhancements for Microsoft’s upcoming console.
