As many of you probably know, the long-awaited Red Dead Redemption 2 is finally launching this Friday, October 26. On the same day, a mobile app will become available that will act as an optional companion to the game.

Rockstar recently announced that the Red Dead Redemption 2 Official Companion App will be available for both iOS and Android devices when the game comes out. The app will connect to your PlayStation 4 or Xbox One and offer some potentially useful features in real-time with the game, such as an interactive map of the game’s overworld, with which you can zoom in and out, set waypoints, or mark areas you want to make sure you check out later. You will also be able to view protagonist Arthur Morgan’s various stats (such as health and stamina) from the app. This will allow you to remove the in-game HUD completely, if you want to fully immerse yourself in the game or not have anything obstructing your view, without missing out on any important information. The app will also give players access to Arthur Morgan’s journal, a digital copy of the game’s manual, and the option for a digital version of the official Red Dead Redemption 2 guide.
