Rockstar Games recently revealed the different editions of Red Dead Redemption 2 that would arrive later this year. Along with these different editions of the game it was also discovered that different missions in the game would be locked for those that don’t pony up the extra cash for one of the more expensive editions of the game.
Fans of Red Dead Redemption quickly called foul on Rockstar for the practice, taking to social media to voice their complaints. This backlash did prompt a response from the developer, who revealed that the missions found in the premium and ultimate editions of the game are “side activities” and not part of the main story mission.
“The Bank Robbery and Gang Hideout included in the RDR2 Special Edition are side activities created specifically for that edition and are not part of the main story,” reads a tweet from Rockstar.
Regardless of whether they were created specifically or not, there’s no doubt that those who don’t pay the extra cash will get the short end of the stick. You may have been waiting almost a decade for this follow-up to Red Dead Redemption 2, but you’re gonna need to pay a little bit extra if you want the entire package.
