A developer for Rise of the Tomb Raider has confirmed the game will be 1080p on Xbox One.
Game director for Rise of the Tomb Raider, Brian Horton, tweeted out:
“Rise of the Tomb Raider footage he previewed is 1080p from an Xbox1”
He was commenting on a preview for the game made by NX Gamer. Crystal Dynamics said last month that they are targeting 1080p and 30fps for the full game. It looks like they achieved the 1080p benchmark with the preview gameplay that was shown.
Rise of the Tomb Raider looks fantastic graphically and appears to build upon the 2013 reboot of the series. The last game in the series breathed new life to the old franchise.
The game will be a timed exclusive for Xbox One and Xbox 360 this year. Crystal Dynamics are not allowed to talk about releasing the game onto other platforms until the game comes out.
It is rumored the game will be out on PS4 and possibly PC in late 2016. We won’t know those details yet as announcements won’t likely be made about that until 2016.
Rise of the Tomb Raider will be released for Xbox One and Xbox 360 on November 10th. It shares the same release date as Fallout 4.
