Rocket League’s second anniversary is right around the corner and developer Psyonix is just now giving us the details. We don’t know everything, but it looks like the game will get some awesome new Rick and Morty items as part of it.
On July 5th players will start to receive Rick and Morty items as regular drops after matches. “Rick and Morty will be available as Antennas, along with ‘Cromulon,’ ‘Mr. Meeseeks,’ and ‘Mr. PBH’ Toppers, an ‘Interdimensional GB’ Rocket Boost, and some familiar-looking ‘Sanchez DC-137’ Wheels. Bonus: the ‘Cromulon’ Topper can drop as a Painted item!”
Rocket League has went all in on these sorts of cosmetic items. New cars, toppers, boosts, and more are already in the game, with players able to unlock them through regular play and inside of crates that require a paid key. We’ve already seen lots of licensed items like this before, such as with Portal, Fallout, and Batman v Superman, but Rick and Morty seems to gel perfectly with the Rocket League crowd.
Watch for these items in game and check back soon for all the details on Rocket League’s second anniversary update, which looks to hit on July 5th across PS4, Xbox One, and PC versions of the game.
