Rocket League is set to receive its second free update, this time focusing on bug fixes and other small issues. Along with these fixes will come the long promised rank reset, which will prepare the game for its first official Season of play.
In case you haven’t been reading the fine print on the left screen of Rocket League’s main menu, the game is currently in what developer Psyonix calls the pre-season. While the rank system has been up and running since day one, there has always been a complete rank reset lingering on the horizon.
The reason for the reset is that Psyonix will be hosting official seasons of Rocket League. The top players of each season will, presumably, receive some sort of prize for their victory. The pre-season time was meant to let players adjust to the game and get set for the official season, which will apparently be starting soon.
As far as exactly when this Rocket League update will arrive, Psyonix wasn’t sure. “We’re submitting our next patch for approval soon,” reads the tweet. “Release date TBD, but it will include several fixes. Ranked Season 1 will be in there too.”
Rocket League is available now for PS4 and PC.
